SAN ANTONIO FIRE DEPARTMENT TAKES DELIVERY OF A NEW
STATE-OF-THE- ART MOBILE EMERGENCY COMMAND VEHICLE
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS—The San Antonio Fire Department
has taken delivery
of a state-of-the-art 45’ mobile Emergency Command Center
Vehicle. The new ECCV is designed to provide fully functional
emergency communications, dispatch, and operational capabilities
in the event of a national disaster, hurricane emergency or
terrorist attack in the South Central Texas region.
Designed on a triple expanding bus chassis the ECCV provides a
fully self-contained communications center with 12 separate
VHF/UHF radio systems connected via a custom engineered digital
interface that provides VoiP ( Voice over IP) ability,
allowing the ECCV to easily communicate and interconnect
with various “First Responders” to an emergency incident.
Supporting up to 10 on board dispatchers the ECCV can
effectively communicate and provide interoperability between
emergency responders from city, county, state and federal
agencies by the simple push of button. In addition the ECCV has
a GIS mapping station that provides up the minute status maps of
on the ground activities and an on board VSAT satellite
communication terminal that provides broadband internet access,
Fax TX/RX , multi channel VoiP and future upfit for
teleconferencing capabilities.
